Smoke Alarms
On 1 January 2017, new smoke alarm legislation was introduced in Queensland. As a landlord, owner occupier or tenant, you now have a legal obligation to ensure you comply with these new laws. The qld smoke alarm legislation specifies that smoke alarms will have to be installed in all bedrooms, in any hallway that is adjacent to a bedroom and there must be at least one smoke alarm on every level of the home.
